New owners have taken over and every room has been redone. The staff was also super friendly. A nice, clean, quiet and comfortable room at a very reasonable price for Newport, check it out ! The kids also enjoyed how close together the rooms were to ours.

Definitely stay here again during the week. Stayed over the weekend to visit friends who payed $100 more and said this place was better! Not a ton of stuff nearby but the trolley goes downtown and a bunch of restaurants are less than a mile away.

Very reasonably priced room, outside of Newport proper - a basic motel room, it was clean, the bed was comfortable. Suited our purpose - wanted to see Newport for a day and not pay a fortune for a room for the night.

Four of us stayed here while visiting Newport. We took an Uber into town to avoid trying to find parking which worked out well. Overall the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It's your standard motel so it's nothing luxurious but for a night or two it's okay.

Since we’re not in the same league as the Vanderbilts, we chose this place for it’s cost-effectiveness. Located on the edge of Newport, about 2 miles from the “action”, the Pineapple looks very 1950’s. We were able to check in early because the cleaning ladies were able to round up the office manager. And he gave us tips on how... More

Unless you have a car, it's very far from the center of town. Not within walking distance. However, there is a bus stop 3 minutes walk away. It's a $2 ride to the Visitor Information Center in the center of town. First bus into town on a Sunday is at 10.57am. Best to take a cab out. I saved about... More

We stayed here two nights while visiting Newport and its mansions. The room was very clean and had a refrigerator and microwave which was nice. The room we had was very quiet. The motel is located a short driving distance from the restaurants. The only negative thing was the wifi which did not work very well if at all at... More

The Pineapple Inn is not fancy. We were not looking for luxury - we were looking for an affordable place to stay for a weekend get-away in Newport. The Pineapple Inn fit the bill perfectly. Having read some older reviews, we were dubious, but more recent reviews indicated that the Inn had been revived. We decided to take a chance.... More
